How to make fine hair keep a curl (which styling products?)

Question Posted Thursday June 4 2009, 12:03 am

I have very healthy but fine hair. When I was younger and bleached my hair a lot I had no trouble curling my hair with a curling iron. Now it just falls flat after I try to curl it. So, I bought the Vidal Sassoon Answers curling iron for fine hair and it works really well but after a while the curls begin to fall. I want to wear my hair curly for my wedding so I want to know if there are any good styling products for fine hair to help it keep the curl for a good while.

Try using a thicking mousse by Tresemme, they work wonderfully and will help your hair curl perfectly.

Step 1:
Redken blow-dry lotion

After you towel dry your hair, you put a dime size amount for shoulder length hair, more or less for shorter or longer hair.
You don't want to saturate your hair with it, just lightly coat it.

Step 2:
Redken Guts: A root lifter

Lift your hair up away from your scalp with your hand every where that you want volume, and spray the root-lifter directly on the root at the scalp.
Then massage it in well, making sure to rub it only on the scalp, not out to the ends. Keep in mind, the better you massage, the better your volume. Not the more product you use.

Step 3:
Either blow dry your hair upside down or dry it the same way you applied the root-lifter.
Lift the hair up and away from the scalp while pointing the hairdryer up towards the ceiling.
While you are drying your hair go ahead and plug in the curling iron, because you can't have curls without it.

Step 4:

Redken 22 setting spray

This is the real work. No way around it, if you're going with a curling iron.
At this point you have to pick up individual sections of hair, spray the section, curl the hair with the iron, let the iron sit on the hair just a moment, and gently let it go.
When you get through with all the sections on your head, just leave it alone.
You have to let it cool for the curl to set.
The longer the cooling time, the better the curl.

So take this time to get dressed, find your shoes, talk to your friends, get over the nerves, whatever.

And then when you get back to your hair, spray it...again, all over, light mist, not steel.

Then you gently take pieces of the curls apart with your fingers, to make beautiful smaller curls.
And then girl, I think you will be ready !
Enjoy your DAY !
