I have been in this relationship around a year I do have a gem for a girl friend and there is no doubt that she wants to marry me . I just want to get more of my eggs in a row although I am thinking more along the lines of marriage and not so much ingagement. So my question is would this be to soon?Keep in mind we are not young 18 year olds we are both 45 years old she has been single for over 20 years while she made commitments to raising her children now they are grown and so are mine I am a widower my wife passed away in 1985 although I did date over the years I was single for 6 years prior to meeting her in church. And yes we dont sleep together. We choose to be patient.

If you both are committed to eachother and very much in love, AND both wanting to get married, then i would have to say, pop the question. You are both still young (yes you are dont argue)and have so much time to spend happily married, and if you really love eachother there is no reason to "drag the wait out" so to speak. I don't think a year is too soon, and as long as you know the feeling is mutual back then you should go for it! The worst she could say is no, but even if she did, that hopefully wouldn't ruin the commitment yall have with each other.
