Losing Weight Too Fast?

Question Posted Sunday May 24 2009, 2:48 am

I would like to lose 36 pounds before August 16th. I know that's a lot. It is 3 pounds per week. I've heard that if you are obese enough then it is healthy to lose that much per week. I have also heard conflicting information that you should never try to lose that much that fast. My BMI is currenty 36. I weigh 215 pounds and want to weigh 179 by that date so that I am no longer considered obese. Thank you!

**Yes.**

Assuming average height and exercise, you will need to consume no more than 1050-1350 calories each day. Maintaining this diet will be very difficult, but you will not be starving yourself.
