my friends say i can sing....

Question Posted Saturday May 23 2009, 7:39 pm

so one day i was randomly singing with my best friend ana, when all of a sudden she stopped but i continued. When i finished the song, she's like "ohmigosh you can sing!" I honestly dont think so. so ana forced me to sing to my other bestie mary who also sings, and she said the same thing. This continued for the entire week, then they made me sing for my high school friend who is auditioning for american idol nxt year, and he also said i could sing R&B. evryone says i can except me. Should i take a chance and believe them? Or should i just keep it to myself? I know this is hard w/o a sample but please try you best.
thx

I also sing. Even when I don't ask for a compliment, they just come flowing in. But I did have to practice because practice makes perfect! If you believe that you can win if you enter a competition, practice and eventually, you'll be fantastic!!!

your friends are not likely to lie to you.especially if they told you without you asking.my friend is good at singing&she applied for the x-factor last year.although she didnt quite get through we all stuck by her before&after.if your friends are true to you then they will do the same.take a chance&good luck for whatever you decide to do :)

Think about it: it's not like you asked their opinion, so they didn't feel like they had to compliment you. You didn't expect the compliment yourself. It was candid and genuine. You need to just believe in yourself because your peers are convinced that you have a great voice, which I'm sure you do! =]

The real important question is: do you like singing? If you do, then you should practice and get better! If random people think you can sing well, then you've probably got a lot of potential.

if everyone says you can sing and you love to sing i think you should! but, if you think your voice isnt good, and you are self concious about they way it sounds, stay with just singing around close friends and family.
