After shaving my legs, I have little black dots on the places where the shaved hair used to grow. My legs have little red spots, where it doesnt look like my legs have been shaved! You can tell where the hair comes in, is there any product i can rub over before or after or whenever to lighten these spots or remove them? (they may be the pores)i hope to fix this soon cuz it is embarassing to wear shorts
Sally Hansen makes excellent waxing products- they have wax that you can warm up in the microwave and put on with an applicator as well as strips that already have the wax needed on them, no heating required.
It does sound like you might have sensitive skin, so if you went the waxing route, I would definitely recommend using a bottle of Azulene Finishing Oil (check the brand of waxing kit you buy... the nicer brands often include this or a soothing lotion for free.) Applying this after waxing 1) relieves any pain 2) soothes the skin 3) helps quickly heal any temporary redness or bumps that waxing can sometimes cause on sensitive skin.
A downside is that you do need to let your leg hair grow out some first to be sure the wax grips it well, so no shorts for awhile. But a real plus is that, depending on the rate that your hair grows at, it could be almost a month before you have to shave again.
Another idea: leg hair/imperfections are less noticeable on darker skin. Consider getting a tan or if skin cancer concerns you, there are some great self-tanners out there. Neutrogena and Hempz are both good brands that are fairly inexpensive. [ RealisticRomantic's advice column | Ask RealisticRomantic A Question ]

Once it gets dull, it doesn't have much of a use and it's not healthy to use. Also don't know what you prefer or what you already use, but I find shaving in the shower with soap works much better than using shaving cream.
