TANNING ?!?!

hi i am 15 female and am going to puerto rico next week, where the sun is very strong. poeple tell me its healthy to go tanning at a salon just a couple times before you go to a tropical place so you dont get burnt. is this true ? please let me know!

well going to a tanning bed is never technically good for you, but im not going to tell you not to go haha. yes, it should be fine, because it provides a base tan. so no, its not bad for you :) 17/f

A base tan is a myth. This is very untrue. You will still get burnt and have skin damage. Just use sunscreen and hats.
