You didn't specify if you're on a Mac or PC, but if you own a Mac, there is a program I use called iPodDisk. When you install it and plug in your iPod, it recognizes your iPod as if it were a normal hard drive and has it organized in folders by artist. Then you can just drag and drop it to your computer.

I haven't tried it with a PC, so i'm not as familiar with the programs. I'm sure there's gotta be a free one out there. Again though, I don't know if you've got a PC or a Mac. If you have a Mac, you can get iPodDisk here:

I hope I could be of help. Best of luck!

If you have the plud that connects from your ipod to your computer, you will be able to just transfer it onto the computer for free. Once you plug it in, the screen should pop up asking what you want to do.

You don't need a program or anything. Just make sure you have the latest version of Itunes. Plug your ipod in. On the left side a little icon for it should show up. Right click and click on Transfer Purchases.
