I want to try out for my first school talent show, But I cant find a good song to sing!!!!! I only have 3 preferences, which are not taylor swift, not colbie caillat and not a male song. Other than that Im open to Ideas! :) oh, and I am STRONGLY an alto, so I could use a low ranged song. Thanks!
If you're into musicals, there is a song from Wicked called I'm Not That Girl.
A few other suggestions would be:
All that Jazz- from Chicago
Anything by Shakira.. (you could change the high notes into harmonies)
If you're into country, any song by Shaniah Twain. The first song I ever sang for a musical production was Come on Over by shania twain, it was a fun song!
Good luck with the talent show! [ dudewearsurcar's advice column | Ask dudewearsurcar A Question ]

The best ones for altos I think are:
Big Spender - Shirley Bassey
These boots are made for walking - Nancy Sinatra
Sunny or Son of a Preacher Man - both Dusty Springfield.
Hope you like them as much as I do and you win! [ BrokenWings's advice column | Ask BrokenWings A Question ]

What i would suggested you to do is the following,
Google, or use www.youtube.com, and type in alto songs and thinngs of this sort.
Also, what you could do is, Listen to your local radio station, and if there is any sogns you like on there, you can experiment with those.
If you would like a few ideas, i could suggest
-Kelly Clarkson
-Lisa marie Presley,
-Melissa Ethridge (Not to sure how you spell that)
And
-Avril Lavigne
