HELP target application

Question Posted Sunday April 26 2009, 2:16 pm

On the Target application it says I have to have the ability to start within 60 days, but I can start within like 70 days....what do i do? I really want to apply asap beacuse i know the spots will be taken if i wait 10 days!!!!!!!!
and its online, i cant write a note or anything. i want to just say YES start here (60 days from now) when it says that, and then when i get an interview (assuming thats what happens after an application) ask if i can start within 70 days because i still have school + my aunt is visiting and we're going on a road trip? or something just HELP.

16/f fyi, if anyone remotely my age who can answer this and some more job related questions has aim thatd be fab

18/f...

When they ask if you can start within 60 days, they're not asking if you can start 60 days from the time you turn in the application, they're asking if you're available within the next two months - as in, they'll probably hire you sooner than 60 days because they'll need you sooner than 60 days.

However, to heighten your chances of getting the job, go ahead and apply now, wait for an interview, and when they ask you when you can start, explain the situation. If anything, start sooner and just get time off for your aunts visit & the road trip (if it's no more than a consecutive week, anyway).

If you get the job, great. If not, there are plenty of other jobs who look for teenagers. The reason a lot of places hire teenagers who have never worked before is because they think that they'll want to impress their bosses and do really well to keep the job, so you have a better chance of getting a job than other people.

I also suggest you apply to other locations as well. If Target doesn't end up calling you back for an interview, you'll want other options. Check out your local mall or other venues in your area.

I am seventeen years old and will be happy to answer this question and any others you have. Just message or e-mail me.(:
As far as this application goes, definitely fill it out ASAP! Jobs are going so quickly right now. Once you get to the interview, they will probably ask when you can start. Tell them when you can start BEFORE you point out that it is ten days later than the application asked. They may not even notice.
If they do notice, just explain that after the 70 days you will be out of school and able to work any hours offered (or whatever works with your schedule)
Good luck!

Hope this helps,

Darby
