On my phone the triangle means you are roaming.
Basically you are out of your service area. There
should be little bars beside it that tell you how much signal you have. No bars no signal.

You might want to check into a phone service
that gives you a stronger signal in your area.
One that isn't roaming. Roaming costs you extra
money.

Unfortunatley, in some areas like mine, there
just isn't much of a signal without roaming.
If you want to get and send messages, you will
have to actually set your phone to roaming. It
helped me. Mine was always searching for a local
and it wouldn't let me send or receive. If you
set it to roam, it will stop all that looking for signal and probably let you text or receive calls
better.

I'm not familiar with your phone, but you might try going to settings, options and set it on roam.
See if it gives you some signal bars.

this happens to my phone sometimes. the weird triangular shape i think is suppose to be there so its fine. try shutting the phone off, taking out the battery then putting it back in and turning on your phone.
