On the pill but...

Question Posted Thursday March 12 2009, 11:37 pm

Okay, I'm on the pill but lets just say that i'm not so good about taking them at the same time everyday, i always take it between 7-10am though. So, i got done with this last pack and when it was time for my period... nothing... next day.... nothing. What does that mean? Could i be pregnant? my pack only has four pills for the days when your supposed to have your period so if it never starts do i just start my next pack? If i am pregnant couldn't that be really bad for a baby? Bottom line is I really don't want to be pregnant.

As long as you're taking them roughly around the same time each day then it's fine. The Pill is very effective, as long as you are taking it properly, you should be fine. It's normal to miss a period, especially when you first start taking them. Just start your next pack as normal. I find that my period doesn't come until three days before I start my next pack.

You probbaly aren't pregnant, but if you're still worried then it would be a good idea to go to your doctor.

Bottom line:

If you have sex, you can get pregnant.

I don't care what contraceptive you're using, you can get pregnant.

If you have never had sperm near you, then you can't be pregnant.

Therefore, abstinence is the only 100% effective contraceptive.

I amnot sure the type of pill your on. but i would go to your doctor and ask her or him. it isn't good for a baby but you need to find out or not because it could possible harm the child. i know doctors state you need to take the pill every day at the same time. so yours may not have worked.

I'm not sure what pill your on, but it takes me around 2-3 days to start my period after I take the first menstrual cycle pill. But you really need to get into the habit about taking it at the same time, thats the only real chance you have to prevent pregnancy. Just set your cellphone to have an alarm go off at a certain time everyday.
Be careful, & I wouldn't worry just yet.
Hope I helped.
