Arg please help!
Okay I'm 15 and I really want a job when I turn 16 but the thing is, my dad is just being so stubborn! I don't know where you live, but where I live you need a...I think it's called a social insurance number? To allow you to have a bank account, which you need if you're going to get a job because they don't just directly hand you your money on your pay day.
And that would just be sad if I get a part time job when I'm 18 because they'll think that I'm really lazy PLUS I'm very clumsy so at 18 the schoolwork will be a lot harder to balance out with work.
And he's not going to make me one until I GRADUATE UNIVERSITY (I want to be a nurse)! He says that I don't need to work because he's going to work hard and pay for me, but that's ridiculous because I have 2 other siblings and that is definitely not going to work out. And FYI, he makes me so mad, I don't even WANT his money involved in this because I know that he's gonna try to make me live with him when I’m 18 or something instead of me living in the privacy of my apartment like I hope to because he'll black mail me for paying him back!
Is there any way I can get a social insurance number by myself? That's not far that he decides if I get one because I bet it's still his decision when I turn 18.

its a social security number and everyone who is a citizen has one. thats all you need to have a job and get a bank account, so either your dads just sayin that so you wont get a job or you just got confused. tell him it will give you a sense of accomplishment and that other kids your age (like me) have a job. when youre 15, you have cut hours anyway, which means you cant work past certain hours on school nights and you can only work a certain amount of hours on weekends. but it all depends on where you live.
do the research and present your case to him like an adult and he'll probably warm up to the idea. thats how i got my parents to let me get a job.

Okay, I want to be a nurse to. In my state before you enter nursing school you have to get a CNA-Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate. Just tell your dad you need a CNA before nursing school and then you will have to work.
