I have purchased many many pets for all suplies and the guinea pig it will prob. be about $100-150. Not cheap but you want good supplies and it takes a lot to start. A hint about guinea pigs they like to have friends. So if you can get 2 of them do that!!! I got two and they were so much fun! They are a great pet, good choice!
