Hotmail account blocked

Question Posted Sunday February 15 2009, 7:40 pm

I went to send an email just then and an error message came up saying "This account is currently blocked from sending messages. If you don't think you've violated the Windows Live Terms of Use, please contact customer support."
I don't believe I have violated the terms of use. I am trying so send out resumes and it is really important that I can use this account because all my potential employers have this email address and I can't use it. How can I unblock this account?

Is it possible to delete my email account and then make a new one of the exact same name or doesn't that work?

The best thing to do is to contact Windows Live customer support and see what went wrong and tell them that you've not done anything and they should reverse the block unless they've got a good reason to.

Once a username is used, you can't create another under the same name otherwise that could cause confusion for the site.

Another option is to just create another account and give it to your employers so that they can contact you on that account whilst the other is being fixed.

I hope this helped,
