Okay so I just got a new computer
Its windows vista
From the Circut City closest to my housee
Anyway, this computer was the display one, so it had thise stupid popup that comes up if you dont move the mouse for like 3 minutes
It says something about 'Check out firefox" and something about computers
It pisses me off
How can I remove that?
Step by step details please?
To remove the screensaver, right click an empty space on the desktop (anywhere that doesn't have an icon). Choose "personalize". Click "screen saver". Change the screen saver to something else.
If that doesn't work, go to start, run (or press WinKey+R). Type:
msconfig
Go to the "startup" tab. Uncheck everything that you don't need and click ok. Unchecking anything in that tab will never break the computer, so experiment until the screensaver is gone. Don't mess with anything in the other tabs. [ theymos's advice column | Ask theymos A Question ]
triquetra answered Tuesday February 3 2009, 8:39 am: Click on 'Start'
Type in 'Internet Options'
Click on the 'Privacy' Tab
Check the box which says 'Turn on Pop-Up Blocker' (or something like that).
Click 'Apply'
To set the security level of blocking the pop-ups, go back to the 'Privacy' Tab, click on the 'Settings' Button and go to the 'Filter Level' and set the level which you want. Personally, I use the Medium level.
