kerry_jeanne answered Tuesday January 27 2009, 4:34 pm: Depending on how long ago you hit your head you could have a concussion. If I were you, I'd seek medical attention and let your doctors know that it comes on immediately after ejaculation. Good Luck! [ kerry_jeanne's advice column | Ask kerry_jeanne A Question ]
THINKPOSITIVE7 answered Tuesday January 27 2009, 11:55 am: Hello, i beleive what you are experiencing are, Coital headaches they are a male-dominated syndrome. They are usually abrupt and painful, much like a severe, throbbing migraine. In most cases they are benign, however, an aneurysm or other vascular malformation can occur during sex, so he should get an angiogram to rule out any medical problems. They usually prescribe indomethacin (Indocin) for benign coital headaches by the way.As for other treatment, a doctor may recommend abstaining from sexual activities and masturbation for a short period of time ranging from a few days to a few weeks. In addition, doctors may recommend medications such as propranolol that can be taken in advance of sexual activity to prevent such headaches. Reduction in weight to a more ideal level and increased exercise may also reduce the likelihood of recurrences.
People who get this sex headaches, also, tend to suffer from migraines.
Researchers aren't sure about the precise cause of the headaches, although they're probably a type of "exertion" headache, in which the pain comes on during vigorous physical activity.
During sex (or vigorous exercise), the body releases catecholamines that could act as a trigger on the blood vessels in susceptible persons, or the chemicals could act on certain sensitive areas of the brain to trigger a migraine. I hope this helped..the best of luck to you:)If you have further qustions you can send me a private message.
