If people don't treat you right because of your clothes than forget them. It may be nice to dress in brand names but not if you aren't making money. There's nothing wrong with clothes from Old Navy, Wal-Mart, GAp, Target even if you think so.
Find out your father's reasons about you not getting a job. Maybe he's concerned in your marks etc. You can get a part time job on weekends or one or two weekdays with movie theaters. They're always hiring. As long as you can balance school work with the job you're fine. [ solidadvice4teens's advice column | Ask solidadvice4teens A Question ]

A job is a LOT of work, and your dad's right to keep you from getting one if your grade's are low. I mean, if you get a minimum wage job now, you could flunk out of highschool, and not get a REAL paying job later. Plus, it takes away from your social life BIG TIME. Most minimum wage jobs just schedule you whenever, so they could interfere with your plans. If you want to do good in school, then do good in school. It's actually not as hard as it sounds. I used to be like failing all my classes until I just decided to do better and actually pay attention and turn in my work :) MUCH easier then it seems, my grades shot right up! I hope I helped!
