What do people mean when they say "Don't do too many mind-stimulating activities before bedtime. That's the reason you're having trouble sleeping."
Isn't THINKING a mind-stimulating activity? Because you're like...using your mind?

THINKPOSITIVE7 answered Sunday January 25 2009, 5:12 pm: hmm mind-stimulating activites are usually as in the phrase activites, such as something that really cause you to work numerous parts of your brain to complete them, this could range from homework, espcially math problems, crossword puzzles etc.. these activities are concious activities meaning you are full aware that you are trying to complete these tasks at hand and this activates a copious amount of brain areas causing your mind to be fairly active before sleeping, you don't want this because it can hinder your sleeping process. Thinking is preformed unconciously, aw are constantly thinking all day about the smallest amount of things which takes less energy and brain activity. Thinking is relaxing and is encouraged before sleep to help you to relax.It is important to take the time out to think about your day, things you want to do, rather big or small, thinking puts your mind at ease and is extremly comfortable..So all in all the main difference between the two is simply utilizing the concious and uncouncious mind and the energy level needed to complete the two.I hope this was helpful and comprehensible,I wish you the best of luck!!
