oil astrigent then moisturizer? every night after my shower i put a clean and clear brand astringent that helps fight oil and acne then after that i use a moisturizer... will these two cancel each other out cause the astringent fights oil and the other one moisturizes? or is this a good combination that will leave my skin moisturized but not oily or dry?? thanks!

Astrigents are also toners that help maintain the pH of your skin. They can make dry skin even dryer if you use the ones containing alcohol but those are not good. Use Burt's Bees Tomato Toner, for example, made with natural ingredients. You pat it on your face and wait a while for it to absorb before putting on moisturizer for maximum absorption. Moisturizers are supposed to be oil free, the two don't cancel each other out although that is a good question. ]
It is good that you use the astringent, and you should always moisturize your skin. If you don't moisturize, your skin will become dry and you won't like it. I know that it seems that they would cancel each other out but you really do need them both. Moisture for your skin is good because you want it to stay hydrated...your astringent is fighting the annoying oils that can contribute to breakouts. Your skin should be moisturized, but not oily. ]
