So many people say I look 12 to 14 years old. I'd really like to look more my age but I don't want to over do it.
(I'm sorry, I have no photos.)
I have chin-length brown hair and bangs. My eyes are dark brown. And my measurements are 36-27-34. Bra size is 36D.
I'm not quite sure what kind of shirts I should be looking for. I haven't bought anything in a while. I mostly have tank tops that I don't wear outside. They show a bit too much. I often wear t-shirts (fitting or large) when I go out. If you can suggest anything, links please.
Also, I don't really know all that much about make up. If I wear any at all, it's a little bit of eyeliner.
I've tried so many brands, but it always smudges. How can I prevent that?
And do I go for natural colors for eyeshadow? What about blush?
Make-up can make you look extremely childish if you don't know how to apply it properly. If you're clueless, chances are you'll end up looking like a NYC hooker on a friday night or a 3 year old who found mommy's make-up while she was sleeping.
I don't wear any make-up and I look my age, to the best of my knowledge. My mother will wear make-up and look trampy. My older sister wears make-up to look younger. My younger sister wears make-up to look older. Make-up is to create an illusion of something you simply aren't. Many men really despise the fact that their girlfriends wear make-up anyway. A lot of men feel deceived even.
T-shirt are fairly childish in all aspects. This means all t-shirts, all the time. Sure, you could wear a t-shirt around the house but in public it gives the illusion that you're so childish that you don't know how to dress any other way but "comfortable and sloppy."
Jeans and t-shirt is fairly slack and not lady-like or professional. You're at a stage where you're more than a 10 year old but less than a working-class mom. This means you should look for things that are colorful in the right aspects. So, ditch the jeans and t-shirts. Look for things like:
Try for a little brighter, playful colors rather than dark or "earthy" tones, as they tend to age you somewhat (although, the aging is more professional so if you're looking for a good job then go for those types of dresses).
But AVOID these types of dresses (seriously, these are for LITTLE girls) even though they may seem to be "cute" -- they are NOT the type of "cute" you want to be!:
Sure it's cute, but you're not 5 anymore. Think back to elementary school when everybody wore characters on their shirts. You're not into the power rangers any more. Sayings and cute little drawings are OUT.
Not-too-long but not-too-short skirts!--long makes you look short while too short makes you look like like you're selling your body. Basically, you're looking for just-above-the-knee OR touching-the-knee type of skirts. Try skirts like these:
Dress pants and dress khakis the way. These can be more stylish with patterns, variations of colors, and new cuts. They can help you look super classy if you dress appropriately:
Buy your clothes to fit you right. This means that they should NOT be tight or "form fitting" but have a little bit of slack for daily movements. This also means that they shouldn't be oversized or baggy to where your shape is lost.
Don't use plastic, colorful, and shiny jewelry. Just don't. You look like you're a little girl who bought some things from the $.50 machines because your mother had to stop you from taking her nice pearl necklace all of the time.
Style your hair. Curl your bangs a little. Part your hair to the side more than in the middle. Flip the ends in or out for a little sass. Little girls don't do anything with their hair--you're not a little girl anymore.
Lastly, embrace what age you look because when you're older you wish you have it then. You have the body of a woman and you should dress that way. A good wardrobe costs money, too, so be prepared for it to take a decent amount of time to get some of the best outfits you'll ever have.

if you want to show off your eyes, use brighter colors like purple or yellow.
for blush, use a blush brush and lightly sweep a light pink rosy blush over your cheeks.

-Try good mineral makeup. MAC is a great company.
-Try shopping at stuff like american eagle, aropostle and hollister (avoid abercrombi). Look for things that are earthy colors. Or anything that is not extremely colorfull. Like bright pinks and blues are a no. Anything bright that says look at me screams young.
-Not too much jewelry. To many arm bands and all that makes you look younger.

Whatever you do, keep it light because heavy makeup will often make you look younger. Blush is good, but stay away from anything glittery. Sometimes blush can make you appear younger, too. One of the best ways to look older is to concentrate on your posture. Think sophisticated, and make sure you stand with your shoulders back without sticking your chest out. Mascara is always good, but don't fall into the trap of letting it get clumpy. Even if you only just sweep it on once, it is better than overdoing. Smudgy eyeliner can make you look younger, too. Stay away from any of the wet and wild brand and go for one of the ones that advertises that it is long wearing. Another thing that makes people appear young is fruity cotton candy type perfumes. Go for something mature. If you don't wear perfume at all, you should give it a try. It gives people the subconcious image of class and sophistication.
