how to be a hard working student

Question Posted Friday December 26 2008, 2:34 am

Well next semester I'm taking a lot of really hard classes (statistics, organic chemistry, philosophy, business administration, and history). I will have class twice (sometimes three times) a day five times a week.

I'm feeling quite overwhelmed, and the semester hasn't even started yet. Taking less (or trading for other classes) is not an option.

I have a little (no, HUGE) procrastination problem. I mean its horrible. I'm hoping that because I'm taking so many units I won't have time to procrastinate, but I really am not so sure about that.

How do I stay focused and motivated to study and do homework? I really want to give it my all this semester (because I learn what I can get away with to pass the class, and I always do, but I just don't have enough A's on my transcript). I really want to be a hard working diligent student next semester. How do I do that?

Oh, and I understand I won't be able to have a social life (or any life really), if I'm going to be that hard working. Study groups don't work for me whatsoever.

Oh, and I'm a sophomore in college.

17/f

I have a question.. can you take summer courses? That will take some classes off from the regular school year.

make a LOT more time for yourself to study and do your work and save the wknds for going out, and always make sure you have your breakfast everyday b/c it's important to have that meal before school each day other wise you'll feel tired all day and not be able to stay awake or have any energy to do your work. and staying focus and doing homework isn't that hard actually. trust me I used to be the type that never does my homework but now I actually know how important it is b/c i know that if i want a future I really need to put a lot of effort into school, set goals for yourself and remind yourself to do your schoolwork, and thats all I can tell you really but I hope I helped somehow.
