I feel like there is nothign I can do to be happy. I've cried 3 out of the past 6 days, and cannot get happy again. The reason I never got help is becasue I'd have 3 bad days, and then have one good day and thinkn that I am fine. I have a loss in appitite, headaches, I feel like I'm just going through the motions every day, I want to be alone a lot, and I feel like I'm pushing some people away. Help!!

It sounds like you might have a depressive personality. It's not uncommon. If you want to, your physician could get you a depression scale and see if you're suited to a mild antidepressant, which should lift the fog more than one day at a time. Of course, there will always be sad days.
There are other options, if you feel that the medication route is not for you. If you are a religious person, then meditation in your religion can often help. I know I feel better after a long conversation with the Goddess, but similar things are thought of in Christian, Buddhist and all other religions. There are herbal remedies that could be beneficial, though I would have to consult my big book of herbal info to tell you what exactly those would be. If you go to your local herbal store (or pagan store) they can concoct something that can lift your mood intensely.
In general, it does not sound like this is a particularly difficult problem to solve, and I'm sure there are courses of action that I have missed along the way.

I always feel a little gloomy in the winter time. It may not totally help but you should try taking Vitamin D 1000mg tablets. And St. Johns Wort herbal tablets. Also keep yourself busy all the time, and listen to music that gives you a positive feeling. Get a full time job if you can, or if your a student put lots of energy into your studies.
The BEST way to get rid of depression for me is to work out. If I'm depressed I'll just run until I'm exhausted, and it works every time I feel so much better afterwards.
Even though it's kinda obvious try to avoid music, TV shows, and Movies that are really dramatic and emotional cause it will just bring back depressing feelings.
Something I personally do is drink lots of coffee, and I'm not sure why it helps but it does.
These are things I try to do because I've felt the same way as you. I was feeling lonely, nothing was worth anything, and the only thing I looked forward to was going to sleep every day.
Everyones different, and I think we all have to find our ways and purpose to be happy. Try some of the things I talked about though, and maybe some of them will help.

Aw you poor thing :(

I suffered depression for 3 years, and about 6 months ago I got over it.

The first step to getting over depression is the same step to getting over a lot of problems/disorders. That is to pinpoint why.

Why are you depressed? I'm not asking for the answer, but I'm asking you to find the answer. Because once you find that answer, you can start to attempt to overcome that problem and the depression itself.

The second step can also be the first. Sometimes for some people, it's obvious why they're feeling depressed. For others, it's not so obvious. They just feel down, and they don't know why.

So the second (and maybe the first) could be seeking professional help. For some people professional help is great. For others, it's pretty much useless. However, it's great to go a few times, just so you know if it's the right choice or not.

But they can also help you come up with a solution to fix your depression.

If professional help isn't for you, confide in family and friends. They, like professionals, can help you assess the situation and come up with a solution. Sometimes that's better than a professional.

If your depression was like mine, sometimes even a change of environment is needed. The place around you is depressing, and you're not fitting in. This can be a very difficult step because a lot of people aren't financially prepared to change environments because of something like depression.

However, hopefully your depression isn't reliant on that, and do the first few things and cross that bridge when you come to it :)

I'm sure there are other columnists on here who will give much better advice than me, but I hope that helped a little bit, from someone who has recently overcome depression.

The journey isn't as long and winding as it seems if you have support behind you. Overcoming depression is the best thing you can do in life, and you'll be so happy after you do it. I wish you a safe and happy 'journey' overcoming this :)
