why is is so hard to get over your first love and why is that even after they hurt you so much its still harder? what have you (guys and girls) done to get over them and can you ever even get over them completely?

i got over it because i thought about how much he's hurt me you know? like i was like: omg i'm so much better.
and maybe you dont believe it because to be honest neither did i but just keep telling yourself that. because staying with him in your mind isnt gonna get you further anyway. like its basically a waste of time :S

but honestly what helps is going outside, shopping while checking out other guys. it made me feel sooo much better lOl.
but really, i know that right now you feel like youre never gonna get over it, but trust me you will, you just have to believe it yourself and stp hanging on to him.
it doesnt even take thaat long. like ive been totally in love with this guy for 2 years and he was my first love. but then he broke my heart and i got really pissed about it :S
so yeah it took me like about 2 weeks to realize hes not worth it. getting over it is the harder part but it'll happen, dont worry (:

my boyfriend who i had dated for just under a year broke up with me about two months ago. he wasn't the first boy i loved but he was the first boy i was in love with, if that makes any sense. basically, you have to get rid of everything that reminds you of them, and just shut them out of your life for awhile. trust me i KNOW it can be really hard but you don't really have any other option. hangout with your friends alot too because they're going to help you out the most. ALSO i've found that a nice rebound works out nicely ;]

It's so hard because you didn't break up with them, they broke up with you and you are still in love with them. To get over my ex. He hurt me twice before i had no contact with him online, phone or in person. i cut him out of my life completely.

Do you mean first love as you fell in love or as he was your first " sexual'
Becuase there is a big diffrence.
I know some ways to help.
-The first way is keep your self busy and don't think about him.
-Write down everything bad about it and think about all the reasons yall fought and bag things.
-Find another guy( theres always one better)

I dont think you can ever really get over you first true love but theres definitly ways when i dumped my first true love for cheating on me i was really depressed but then i after i let myself cry for a few hours i realized i didnt want to spend my time crying over someone who isnt worth being with me so i hung out with friends and started dating again and now im with a great guy who cares about me a lot so basically move on and dont even think about him instead think of what he did to you to make you hate him and you will forget about him soon.
