Question Posted Saturday December 13 2008, 12:50 am
So a long time ago, I asked my friend why her father's face was all cratery, full of holes [like crater face in the movie Grease], and she told me he had said it was because he used to pop all of his pimples when he was younger. I'd never given it much thought, until I noticed recently that I was getting small, tiny little holes in my face, not a lot, maybe 2 or 3. They look like a collapsed zit, with the skin curving inward instead of out. It's really bugging me, because even though I'm not sure if they're appearing in the exact spot where the pimples once were, but I do pop a lot of them. I'm worried sick. Does this mean I'll eventually have a crater face? Will it just stop if I stop popping, or is it something else altogether? Are they irreversible? Help!
Elcee answered Sunday December 14 2008, 10:43 am: Please don't pop your spots because that could cause infections and scarring. I suggest you treat your spots with some acne cream recommended by the pharmicist. If you do find you are left with some scarring you can use Bio Oil to help with this once you have treated the acne. All the best. [ Elcee's advice column | Ask Elcee A Question ]
