If you decide to type the letter (which no, it shouldn't make you look stupid), then be very careful.
If you give the letter to her, she can turn it into a higher authority if she feels you need more help than what she can give. Your teacher cares about you and wants you to be helped.
I'm sure you haven't been annoying her, maybe she just isn't sure how exactly to handle the situation. When I went through a tough time, the teacher I spoke to was only a first year teacher. I was in the first class she ever taught. She wasn't experienced and probably didn't know how to help other than telling me she cared, but it did help.

Anyway, if it's easier for you, type the letter and read it to her. You can give it to her, and that may seem like the easiest solution, but know that she has the option of turning it into the social worker.

As for the content of the letter, write what you want her to know. Tell her why you chose her to talk to. Tell her how you feel about what is bothering you and why you think you feel that way. Let her in on whatever is going on in your life that is causing you to act the way you do. Let her know why you want to stop, why you're seeking help. Just kind of pour your guts out. Let her know everything because that's how she can help you best. She may feel that it's best for you to get professional help, and that's okay. I started seeing a psychiatrist when I was in early 6th grade because I was suffering from an eating disorder and my parents and teachers knew that was the best way to help me. Had I needed to see a psychiatrist for my behavioral issues and the pain I felt over my friend's death, I would have gone just to have the pain go away. Sometimes it's easier to talk to psychiatrists. I've seen a total of 3 that I can remember. The first one, I didn't like at all. She didn't seem friendly, and she kind of frightened me. The second one I loved. I was happy to go and see her, talk to her, etc. She really helped me. She's the person who determined what was wrong with me. After my diagnosis, she wasn't the person I needed to see anymore. She wasn't a specialist with my problem, so they brought me to someone else. I didn't like the 3rd person, and I really missed my other psychiatrist...
Basically, sometimes you just need to find the right person to talk to and help you.

When you're seeking help, don't ever feel like you're wasting someone's time. Now, if you're seeking help but refusing to tell why, that is kind of a waste of time. There's nothing your teacher can do for you if you don't give her the details and let know what's going on with you.

I have AIM, but it doesn't appear that you're on. I rarely use it, but I tried getting on to chat with you. My screen name is c0ncreteAngel79, so if you ever see me on, feel free to talk to me and just let me know you're from Advicenators. I'm in college, so I don't really have much time to chat between classes and stuff, but I'll try.
