You know, just to see if you'd be good for the job.
You should prepare in advance, because every time I've been to a job interview, they ask me about the history of their place. During my first interview, I was quite shocked they asked and I didn't know because I didn't research, but I was lucky cos it was a clothes shop and I rambled on about fashion and they seemed to like it, 'cause it worked!
They will obviously ask about what skills you have and depending on the store you applied to, if you're a good team player, understand customer service etc etc. Pretty straight forward, right?
But yeah, don't worry about it.
It can either be a one on one interview or a group one. Which ever one it is, they'll both be fine and won't be as scary as you think.

Tan answered Wednesday October 29 2008, 8:21 pm: I applied for an xmas temp job also, and after a telephone interview, they told me they would like to come in for an assessment. They told me it would be a team building activity, and then a one-to-one interview.
What actually happened was that I was sat in a room with the other applicants, and we were given a few minutes to talk to the person next to us. Then we had to give a short talk about a few things about their life - interests, previous jobs etc.
It took a few minutes and after that I felt completely comfortable - ready for my interview.
They called a few days later, offering me the job.
