Help with Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates?
Question Posted Monday October 13 2008, 9:36 pm
I've played through almost the entire game without a hitch, and now I'm stumped on a single room that's driving me crazy. It's in the section Subjugation- Crystal Temple, Room I? It's the one that's full of poison gas, and supposedly you're supposed to use Meeth's healing pot to keep everyone's HP from disappearing from the poison gas, while using everyone else to defeat enemies in order to get a key and unlock a path that turns off the poison- then use Meeth's flying pot to sail on out of the room.
Sounds simple enough, right? I've done my research; I looked it up in my (previously rarely used) walkthrough book, then I looked it up on the IGN walkthrough just to be sure. The problem is, it's not even close to working for me. When I first walk into the room, there's gas, and I go to use the healing pot to keep poison-free. Then I walk down the stairs, fighting enemies as I go, then I do a U-turn at the bottom of the steps, and fight more enemies down that corridor. When I get to the end (at the part underneath the overhanging with the healing pot tile) I see a key; yay! Then, I go back down that corridor, and continue on to the second half of the room so I can put the key in the keystand, but -- nope. I can't do that, because there's a massive metal cage-like barrier in my way! I can't go over it, I can't push it, I can't pull it- I sure as hell can't go under it or through it- it's just there. And I can't do anything. D:
I have angsted over this dilemma for almost a week now; it's absolutely driving me insane. I haven't turned my DS off in that amount of time, either- I've simply had it closed and charging, because I keep thinking I may be able to figure it out, and I don't want to go back and do all of that temple that I've already done over again (especially since, ironically, the next room is a save room). I really really love this game, and I really really want to finish it- please, someone help me figure this stupid problem out?
... and search for: "stuck in a poisonous room later" (No quotes)
... to see what this one has to say about it.
The walkthroughs make the game sound like just this side of rocket science as far as the number of things that have to be handled at once goes, so don't feel bad about being stuck. :-)
I hope Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is more fun for you from here on out.
If this doesn't answer your question, please read through the sections in those two walkthroughs thoroughly to see what else you might have missed.
I don't know if anything else there will help you, but check out the page where these hints, tips and walkthroughs reside:
