countries that modeled their government/constitution after ours
Question Posted Sunday October 12 2008, 4:14 pm
does anyone know where to find information on how many countries modeled their government/constitution after the US?
thanks so much!
and also: if anyone has any reasons why they think the US government is exceptional (that's what i have to write my paper on) then that would be great too!
One thing I have learnt that I think is significant is your bill of rights. We dont have anything like that written down in our country (the constitution isn't even written!) so no one really knows our rights, at least no in the same plain written down way you do in the states.
Also another thing is that the way your elections etc are set up seems to involve so many more people... people from all levels of society are so much more involved in poltics then they do seem to be over here (and I suspect the other "old" european powers).
Like I said not really much help to your question, but from the perspective of an outsider studying your country I hope is gives you some things to think about! [ ShaunyD's advice column | Ask ShaunyD A Question ]
