ellipsis (word omission)

would the following count as an example of an ellipsis (word omission, not "...")?

Two of my all-time favorite books include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The BFG by Roald Dahl.

the omitted part would be

Two of my all-time favorite books include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (by Roald Dahl) and The BFG by Roald Dahl.

You're trying too hard. Most sentences are ellipses, but that one is not (or is a bad example of one).

Both of my above two sentences are ellipses, and this one is, too:
-You're trying too hard (to form ellipses).
-[...]but that one is not (an ellipsis)[...]
-[...]this one is (an ellipsis), too

Pick up any book that you have lying around and read the first few sentences. If you can add a few extra words to the start or end of a clause, then it's probably an ellipsis.
