You can talk about pretty much anything, ask him about the most embarrassing thing he did or that happened to him, you can ask what he did all day, you can be like "so tell me about your family, i want to know about them" and make sure to ask more questions about them as he speaks, tell him about your family, your future plans (what you want to do/be), ask about his love life, talk about what kinds of music you like, favorite foods, restaurants, books, fears, likes/dislikes, anything that will get a conversation started. Before you know it, it'll be pretty simple to hold a conversation. Don't be worried though, he may be just as nervous as you are.

You can ask him questions about himself, you can talk about family, friends, school/work, what type of activities you/him like to do, what sport you guys like, what you did that day, funny things that happend throughout the day...etc. Don't be afraid to ask him what he wants to talk about either. He should think of things too! [ jm93's advice column | Ask jm93 A Question ]
