Also it depends how much you weigh, for instance I weigh 116 and i walk on the teadmill for about 40 minutes at a speed of 3 mph and incline of 10 and loose 250 calories.
Make sure you put the incline up, my trainer always says its better to go at a lower speed and have an incline than to run without an incline.
If you do that on the treadmill everyday and do some weight training, 3 sets of 20. You should expect to see results, oh and eat healthy !
