i got all of my classes moved to the next level so they are harder and more work. im pretty smart i guess but im just not motivated to do homework, i pick and choose what to do and i afraid its gonna hurt me this year. after school i relax, i come home and sit in my bed and read for a little while and then its dinner and before i know it its time to go to bed and thats when i do my homework...
how can i get myself to do it, i need to have a time to get it done but im to tired and then the night is goneee
But this summer, I realized that this was my senior year and I needed to buckle down if I wanted to get into college and find a good job. You do too. So, I motivate myself every evening to do my homework so i'll have good grades. Regardless of whether my boyfriend is at my house, I do my homework and take my time. If something is on TV that I want to see, I record it so I can watch it later.
I know that after school you just want to relax, but if you do your homework as soon as you walk through the door, then it's over and done with and you have the rest of the night to watch tv, read, eat, or whatever you want to do.
Homework should never take more than an hour if you concentrate really hard. So if you get out of school at say, 3:30- Go home, change, have a snack or get something to drink, and start on your homework. Most of the time you should be done with your homework by 4:30, maybe 5 if you have a lot. It's best to go ahead and do it when you get home, because everything is still fresh in your mind. You can watch TV until dinner is ready, and after dinner you can read until bedtime. You don't have to keep to a strict schedule, or even a loose one. That was just an idea you may like. The only thing you really need to schedule is homework right after you get home. You're more likely to do it if you do it right away.

Then start your homework. And once you start your homework, do NOT let yourself get up and stop. Just get it all done, and then go and do something else.
For example, if you want to go out with friends or something, tell them you can't go until you finish your homework. Tell yourself you can't read until you finish your homework.
Also, do you have a study hall/lunch period? If so, try starting your homework then, that is what study hall is for anyways!

I suggest doing your homework after eating a snack when you get home so your brain works better for when you do your homework. After eating do your homework early because there is more natural sunlight than after you eat dinnner. Try do your homework by an open window or when natural sunlight in in your studying place. Studies show that kids do their homework better and become more focused when they are working in natural sunlight!
Luv ya!

I know how irritating it is to sit and do your homework for 3 hours straight. So I started to listen to my teachers' advice- and they had an interesting idea.
Every 30 minutes of homework time, take a 5 minute break. Get up, go get a drink, take a short walk outside- anything that will get your mind off of your homework. Then after the 5 minutes are up, start doing your homework again. And it actually is rather refreshing, because your brain isn't overloaded for 3 hours straight, it's only overloaded for 3 hours with 5 minute breaks in between.
Try that and see if it works for you as well as it does for me ;]
