i just died my hair to a dark brown..my original color is light brown and it looked verry pretty for the first few days..well now it's about a week later and my hair has gotten a lot lighter and the color is fading already! the dye we used is garnier and it said it was perminant...so any advice on a different brand or anything! i want to find hair dye that will last a lot longer than that!
Invest in a protein filler before you begin coloring. This will make a world of difference in how your color looks and how long it will last. The filler can be colored or in neutral(clear) and is available for purchase at any salon. Apply it to your hair and let it set for the required time before you apply your dye. You do not need to rinse the filler before you apply the dye.
Once you have dyed your hair, it is best not to shampoo for at least a day or two after to ensure that your hair has had time to effectively accept the color. Afterward, use a shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for color treated hair and rinse it with cool water. There are also color tinted shampoos available that will freshen your hair color a bit. You MUST make sure to keep your hair conditioned.
If you use a tanning bed, cover your hair before you do so as exposure to the lamps will cause some fading.
familiarbeauty528 answered Wednesday August 27 2008, 3:22 pm: Honestly any hair dye that you use will fade and get brighter. It actcually depends how often you wash yout hair. The more you wash your hair the lighter the color becomes. That was also my problem. I tried nice and easy, garnier, dark and lovely and perfect ten and they all did the same thing. You should also go to your local hair salon to see what they would recommend. [ familiarbeauty528's advice column | Ask familiarbeauty528 A Question ]
