acesters

Question Posted Wednesday August 27 2008, 1:19 pm

I really want to know who my ancesters were like really far back on my family tree and stuff. My mom has no clue really far back, and won't tell me the ones she knows though. Is there any way I can find out? I don't know their names (I oonly know my father's but I don't talk to him at all since the divorce) and I know my grandparent's first name and marage name (not my grandma's maiden name). No one will tell me anything but I really want to know mmy ancesters and no matter what I tell my mother, about having a right to know and all that, my mother won't tell me. Niether will anyone else in my family. Please help!

dear acesters,i know how you feel i don't know my family tree and i was never really told what i am or where my family came from, but hang in there.it sounds like your going through a lot with your family at the time with the divorce between your parents and they most likey are feeling a lot of pressure because of it.knowing who you are is always going to be important to you and your mom may feel like she has to just trying to protect you from everything including the divorce and your family.the subject "family" might be the last thing she wants to talk about during this time.so give it time, you do have the right to know but your mom may be waiting until she thinks your old enough to truely understand your family including your families past.but if you want there are websites you can try to go on and find out who your are try these sites www.GeneBase.com and Ancestry.com.you also may be able to find out info from old photos and te things written on the back of them.good luck i hope you hide out your past.~rae141307
