Well, I start school in two weeks and the first day at our school is always a half day, which doesn't make it as intense but yeah...
What are some ways I will leave a good/friendly impression on the new people, and also how are some ways I can be friendly with the people in my classes?
I mean obviously I have friends that I always hang around with but I want to know how I can be friendly with the people that I don't really know?

Smile when people make eye contact with you and say hello. When you sit down in class, if there's a class you don't have friends in, instead of isolating yourself out of discomfort, go sit by someone you don't know and start a conversation with them. Ask questions and really listen to what other people tell you, but also share about yourself a little as well. You could share what you did over the summer with each other or what classes you're taking or what you're looking forward to about the school year. Just be pleasant.
