If you want to lose stomach fat, do a cardio or aerobic workout continuously for 30min--then you'll see results. Curl ups just target your ab muscles, which means that it will tone your muscles but won't do squat for your fat. [ ductape_n_roses's advice column | Ask ductape_n_roses A Question ]
Alin75 answered Tuesday August 19 2008, 7:21 am: Doing sit ups will not help you lose your stomach fat since you cannot target fat loss. You can only achieve this by losing weight overall which is done through general exercise (particularly cardio work like running, biking, etc) and attention to your diet.
Anyway, here are a whole bunch of ab training alternatives to sit ups (which are not that good for training abs in the first place): [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Some require equipment, others do not. You will find crunches on page 2 which are always a popular alternative.
Anyway, good luck, but do pay heed to what I wrote above. Otherwise you may spend months building rock hard abs under a layer of fat that is completely unaffected by your efforts. [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]
