First boyfriend - need help comprehending that he actually really likes me
Question Posted Sunday August 17 2008, 12:14 pm
So I recently got my first boyfriend. He's a great guy in every way, he really enjoys spending time with me and is being very sensitive to what I'm comfortable with since this is my first relationship. The thing is, I just can't understand why he likes me...whatever he sees in me, I definitely don't see it. I'm very good in school, but other than that, I'm just average looking, I'm way shorter than he is, I'm usually very quiet, I tend to be awkward socially and physically, I'm pretty un-exciting (don't like risk-taking), and I'm not exactly a great conversationalist. So, I'm always kind of second-guessing things, and I feel much more insecure than I probably should. I actually kind of asked once why he likes me, and his response was that I'm everything he's looking for in a relationship now - why wouldn't he like me? Somehow, his answer didn't really help. Any advice on how I can relax more, go with the flow, enjoy my amazing first boyfriend and truly accept that he likes me?
