First boyfriend - need help comprehending that he actually really likes me

Question Posted Sunday August 17 2008, 12:14 pm

So I recently got my first boyfriend. He's a great guy in every way, he really enjoys spending time with me and is being very sensitive to what I'm comfortable with since this is my first relationship. The thing is, I just can't understand why he likes me...whatever he sees in me, I definitely don't see it. I'm very good in school, but other than that, I'm just average looking, I'm way shorter than he is, I'm usually very quiet, I tend to be awkward socially and physically, I'm pretty un-exciting (don't like risk-taking), and I'm not exactly a great conversationalist. So, I'm always kind of second-guessing things, and I feel much more insecure than I probably should. I actually kind of asked once why he likes me, and his response was that I'm everything he's looking for in a relationship now - why wouldn't he like me? Somehow, his answer didn't really help. Any advice on how I can relax more, go with the flow, enjoy my amazing first boyfriend and truly accept that he likes me?

well if his answer is "you're eveything I'm looking for in a relationship" then that means he doesn't really know what he likes about you. ask him what he's looking in a relationship and what type of girl he's interested in. if his answer is "well I'm looking for someone like you",then that means he doesn't know you. and if he does say that, take your relationship one step at a time.get to know each other more. good luck and tell me how it goes. aim me on ll miss sweet ll.

Getting to know why a guy likes you is tough, i know. when you ask them and there answer doesnt help makes it a little harder to believe, but they see things in you that other people do too but you can't its happened to everyone. i recently got my first bf and he told me that i am great to be around. i coulnd believe that he really liked me but when i looked in his eyes when he said it i though it must be true...somehow guys see thing that we cant see, i hope this helped you

Not everything in a relationship is based on looks and you have to be confident he likes you because of your personality and thats a good thing because not a lot of guys look for a great personality so stop thinking that there has to be a good reason to why he has to like you so relax and be confident or else you will end up messing things up.
