I was so tired, I would sleep for like 20 hours a day, and if I got up to pee, i'd be exhuasted, just from that and i'd go back to sleep. I missed the first 3 weeks of my freshman school year because of it.
and you can go places, but you're really tired and probably won't want to go anywhere, I didn't leave the house the whole time I was sick.
they're a bunch of different kinds of mono though, my boyfriend just got it like a month ago, and he wasn't tired or anything, just his throat was swollen bad and he had to be put on steriods and such so his tonsils would go back to normal size, and he just felt sick for like 3 days, and he wasn't tired at all.
so it's just different cases of mono really. [ tiffislovelyy's advice column | Ask tiffislovelyy A Question ]

For the length of time that you have the disease, the article above says: "Most patients recover within 2-4 weeks without medication"
And under the prevention section:
"The infection is probably spread by saliva and close contact. People may be contagious while they have symptoms and for up to a few months afterwards. The virus can live for several hours outside the body. Avoid kissing or sharing utensils if you or someone close to you has mono. The exact period that people are contagious varies."
So basically, I wouldn't go anywhere when you have mono to avoid spreading it. I hear also that it makes you very tired (fatigue is one of the symptoms), so you might not even want to go places. [ xlovexx463's advice column | Ask xlovexx463 A Question ]
