Cux answered Tuesday August 12 2008, 3:17 pm: I would say that an iPod is better because they have really good troubleshooting advice if you go to their website. They may freeze a lot, but you can minimize that if you don't try to switch songs or things too quickly. It's like any computer- if you try to have too much going at once, it will freeze. If you are careful with it, it will last longer.
I've had my iPod for two years now, and it doesn't have ANY scratches on it. Granted, I keep it covered and I barely touch it without having something between my fingers and the iPod. If you are wary of what you're doing with it, and you don't drop it or do stupid things, it will last a long time.
