My period?

Question Posted Sunday August 10 2008, 6:53 pm

I'm 15 and still haven't started my period, is that normal? :/ My mom says she started at like 12, so I figured I would have started early, but I still haven't started...

Totally normal. Most girls start between the ages of 9 and 17.

It's normal that you haven't started your period at the age of 15. Girls can start so early as 8 to as late as 16.

Just because your mom started at 12 doesn't mean you will completly start early. Maybe your great grandma or grandma or aunt started lae so thats where your genes come from.

If you have't started until your 16ish then you might have a problem. Talk to your mom and schedule an appoitment with your doctor. I'm not sure what the outcomes of this is but don't be nervous.

yes that is normal- my mom got it late, and i got it earlier. it depends on the activity and how much exercise you do. excessive activity can stunt your growth. but dont worry you still have time- by your sixteenth birthday, try talking to your doctor. she may tell you, you still are growing, and estimate how long you have.

Yes, it's normal. If by 18 or 19 you still don't have it, that is when I would start to worry a bit.

You're just a late bloomer, and there's nothing wrong with that. We're all human and we definitely are not all the same when it comes to puberty ;].
