I'm 13 and female
well i have this best friend named "Carmen" and another best friend named "Melissa". They don't really know each other. Melissa has a sister named Candice and she was Carmen's best friend back in 3rd grade, but when Candice switched schools they lost in touch. Carmen's in my school and Melissa lives in the same apartment with me. (I live in Hong Kong, so there's like no neighbourhoods and we live in apartments instead of houses)
well lately melissa has reslly been bothering me so i've been asking carmen for advice. then in the summer holidays, (we have to go to middle school, hong kong schools are different, and me and carmen weren;t in the same school) carmen told melissa everything i said. i asked carmen but she said she didn't mention my name AT ALL. how would melissa know it's me then? carmen sent an email to melissa saying that it wasn't my fault, and melissa said she acts like she's so innocent, and carmen is saying 'don't be so childish'. They're both hating each other now, what should I do? Carmen's asking me to stop hanging out with melissa and melissa's asking me to stop hanging out with carmen.
what can I do???
and please, don't tell me to talk to them. Nothing will change their minds. they're both very...stubborn

If you really think that Carmen told Melissa those things, then confront her again and tell her you'd really like to know the truth. If possible, see if Melissa has this alleged email for proof. After that, there's nothing you can really do about that.
However, as for them asking for you to only hang out with them, that's not fair. Tell them that you like both of them equally and that both of them are your best friends; you won't stop hanging out with either one of the other and if they can't get a long then you'll hang out with them separately. It's not fair for them to make you choose between them.
