Need help finding a car

Question Posted Saturday August 9 2008, 11:04 pm

Hey! Well, I'm 15 and I'm a girl. And I'm getting my first car so I can drive to school. Well, here's the thing, I really have this sorta phobia, about driving in small cars. I just really don't feel safe in them. So my parents and I have been looking for a smaller SUV type car. One's that I've been looking for and that I like are Rav4's, Jeep Liberty, and Saturn Vue. Well, so far I haven't had a ton of luck finding one of those within our price range, year, and type of car. Basically I would like some advice (if you wanna call it that) of other cute small SUV's. I don't need places that sell them, I would just like to know some other styles of SUV's. I would really like the years from 2002-2005. I just want a cute, small SUV, so if anyone knows of some other styles, please help me out! Thanks a ton!!!!!

a good smaller suv within those years would probalbly be a ford explorer they are mid sized and they are pretty popular now. Or a dodge durango they are great cars they are pretty safe amd a average fuel economy. A honda piolet would be good to, they last forever. You can get these cars at any price range and for people like you they are great and like i said any price range. The cheaper ones are going to be more worn out and have more miles butif you move up better condition lower miles and so on all tje way up to a new one.

A small SUV is about as good a car that you will get that are somewhat small, take you're time on driving a car, the fear that you have on driving a small car , tell's me try to practice driving enough for you to feel confortable on the road, also there have been alot of complains about first time drivers putting the mettle to the peddle,Don't speed it's not safe, be a safe and cautious driver. GOOD Luck

Hey, here's a list of midsize/small SUVs I think you might feel comfortable in:

Ford: Escape, Taurus
Nissan: Xterra, Rogue, Murano
Mazda: CX-9

I used to have a Chevy Trailblazer, but I wouldn't advise you buying one... Chevrolet doesn't really have good safety ratings at the moment. A few months ago, a guy hit the side of my Trailblazer and it completely crunched in. He was going maybe like 10 mph, so that's not good at all. I'd hate to think of what would have happened if he had actually been going fast.

So definitely, definitely check out this website:

There, you can look up the safety reports on different SUVs. I'm pretty sure you have to sign up for a free account. I would recommend the Ford Escape because it's cute, safe, and a small SUV. One of my friends has one and she loves it. I just got a Nissan Pathfinder, which I love, but it's probably bigger than what you're looking for. I don't blame you at all for not feeling safe in a small car- I love my SUV!
