old toy chest?

Question Posted Saturday August 9 2008, 2:00 pm

i found my old toy chest (actually, it's been sitting in my room for the last few years and i never bothered to clean it out!) and i just cleaned it out. it doesn't look like a toy chest so i can keep it in my room still.

it has no drawers obviously; it's just a big open box except the top doesn't open all the way even when you push it (it's the type where you push up the top -- it never comes off fully). i wanted to know... how can i store stuff in it? like should i buy bins? it's pretty shallow but reasonably wide, so idk how that helps. i can't put drawers in it... i honestly don't have a big storage problem but i was just curious. i put it at the end of my bed, and i DO NOT want to store clothes in it. any ideas of how i can organize it?

you can buy wooden boards and stain them to the color of the chest and just kinda make dividers with it. Although the idea of your bins will probably be much easier and possibly cheaper

You could store blankets/sheets/pillows in it. You know, bedding stuff. Or even like, you can put your seasonal clothes in it. Like, since it's summer now, you could put your winter clothes in it, and then change them out once winter hits. I know you said you don't want your clothes in it, but that's an idea that will give you more space in your closet/dresser.

Hope I helped. :]
