okay i've been looking around NYU's website and although i'm only a junior in high school i'm trying to prepare for college stuff early. i'm thinking i want to go into journalism but i'm getting really confused by looking at their website. if i want to take journalism (as my major) what classes do i take? and if i want to be more focused on something like media criticism (or whatever) would my courses be different? or would i have to get a degree in journalism then go back for a more specific focus? and whats the difference/meaning of a BA and a MA?
Igotamonopoly answered Friday August 8 2008, 9:37 am: It's more concentrated in terms of how you'd use your degree rather than what you'd write about.
For example, someone with a Radio/TV (or Communications or Broadcast Journalism) degree would take classes in TV or radio or newspaper or whatever else they wanted to DO with their degree.
Maybe you'd take A class in media criticism, if the school offered one.
A BA is a Bachelor of Arts and a BS is a Bachelor of Science. You get one of these after about 4 years of school. It's a regular college degree. An MA is a Masters of Arts. This requires more than 4 years. [ Igotamonopoly's advice column | Ask Igotamonopoly A Question ]
