Im 17 and im going to florida for 10 days to see my best friend. Im going by myelf and dont have an atm card and they dont have my bank down there so there is no way for me to get money so im gonna bring traverlers checks. Idk how much to bring though, i know were gonna to to 1 or 2 parks in orlando and we will probably go out every night idk how much shopping and stufff, so what do you think?

You can also pick up a prepaid mastercard or visa at a grocery store or pharmacy and some are even sold at Wal Mart. Your bank may even offer a traveling or reloadable credit card. Almost all places take visa or mastercard. Most of the reloadable ones also have a high load limit of like $1500 so you should be able to put more than enough money on them.

Actually what i did when I went tew Orlando with ma bestfriend July 11&&ma moms wasnt going..What she did was put me some money on a giftcard like from yer bank..Just ask for an giftcard&&put however much yew wanna put on it..Hope I helped..:]

Yeah I agree with the previous answer....Not all places accept travelers checks, but you know that EVERYWHERE will accept cash. I don't suggest putting it in your luggage though, because there's always the possibility of the airline losing it. Keep it with you or in your carry-on in a sealable place, you don't want it to fall out of your pocket or something. :)

Why not just do a withdrawal from your bank before you go?
Like get a ballpark on what you and your friend plan on doing and withdraw some. Stash it somewhere safe in your luggage or purse. Be sure to stash like an emergency 50 or so somewhere else.
