Moments in History

Question Posted Saturday August 2 2008, 8:56 pm

Ok this is for an assignment for school. I need to ask people of their favorite events in history and why? I need about 10 and i already have 3, but if you have more than one favorite event then feel free to tell me. So far I have:
The fall of communism
The civil war
The fall of the roman empire

I still need 7 events and reasons why...
THANKS =]

these weren't really my favorites but they're just some more ideas...

- the reconstruction era [when the north and south made ammends]. it brought our country closer together
- industrial revolution. bascially why we have most of the stuff we do now
- the invention of the cotton gin. you wouldn't have as many clothes cause they'd take forever to make.
- equal rights for black people. everyone should have equal rights now just one set group.
- equal rights for women. women wouldn't be able to do the things they're able to do today
- womens voting rights. we wouldn't have a say in the world.

hope i helped !

Here are a few of mine:

-July 4, 1776. For obvious reasons ;].
-January 1, 2000. It was the first day of a new millennium =].
-The invention of the internet. Especially since you wouldn't have been able to ask this question to us without it ;].
-The invention of the telephone, light bulb, and every other modern convenience, again for obvious reasons.

* War for Independence - kind of an obvious reason why but because we gained the right to govern ourselves

* Industrial Revolution/Child labor laws - The industrial revolution changed the American economy forever, and I think it SHOULD be against the law for a five year old child to work in a sweat shop.

(the next one kind of goes along w/child labor)

* The reform of juvenile justice system. - In the past, parents who thought their children were unruly could commit them to a "House of Reform" (research it) Those were bad places. They could sometimes be stuck there until they were 21.

Hope these helped. Good luck with your project.
