If your boyfriend also works at the place you were fired from, then it's possible that he'll find out the real reason you left sooner or later. I would advise you to tell him the truth. Hopefully he'll understand why you did it and will forgive you.
I'm going to sound like I'm contradicting myself when I say this, but don't tell your prospective employers that you were terminated for stealing. It will hugely reduce your chances of getting a job, because no one wants to employ someone with a history of stealing from work over someone who doesn't. Start afresh and learn from this mistake.
As for possible places, try anywhere and everywhere that you can think of. Obviously bars and casinos are out of the question, but food shops, clothes shops, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and offices are all possibilities. Grab a free jobs listings paper and go for everything you can find. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
