That seems like a reasonable goal, but you will have to do a little excerizing and maybe some dieting.

If you really like to eat, you can still continue that. There are two methods to eat healthier that I think might work for you. You can A) try portion control. Eat all the same foods, but use smaller portion sizes. Another method is B)Make healthier choices when eating. Instead of reaching for the cookies, try some carrot sticks. The fewer calories you take in, the less you have to burn.

As far as work outs go, try a low key work out everyday, and then when you eat something heavy, take a walk or do some crunches to work off the extra snack. Set a calorie intake goal, and burn off the extra calories you take in above that goal.

:) Hope that helped.

Hey there :] I love exercising and working out, so I think I can help.

First off, you have to be dedicated. Don't go extreme, especially if you're only 13, but make sure you stick to it every day! :]

1) Drink a lot of water. And I mean a lot! I have a large water bottle (a little over 30oz) that I refill about 6 times a day. A lot of people don't realize it, but drinking water makes you feel fuller and really helps clean your system out. Having that vital liquid really helps you lose weight a lot quicker. [Hint: keep the bottle with you at all times, that way when you see it you drink it even when you're not thirsty. I read that once you're thirsty you're already entering dehydration]

Oh also, try to stay away from those tricky Vitamin Waters and Gatorades. My sports trainer told me they're loaded with other preservatives, so they're actually pretty bad for you. You're best bet is ALWAYS water!

2) Cut out the sodas and candy. I know I know, its so hard. I'm a diagnosed caffeine addict! But you have to do it. Don't let up either, once you let up one time .. you're pretty much garunteed to do it again. Diet sodas are fine calorise-wise, but try not to get too hooked on them.

3) Get your green on! (and other colors too) Yeah, eat some vegetables and fruits. Try having a banana when you walk into the kitchen. This habit was super hard for me to pick up, but I started to really like the taste of fruits and vegetables. Eventually, eating chips and cookies just started to make me feel sick. Summer is an awesome time to get those ripe fruits too!

4) Get moving! Every morning before you even get out of bed, do some crunches! You can do anywhere from 10-50 just to get your heart pumping in the morning. There are always cardio options: bike riding, running, running stairs, etc. Personally, running stairs is my favorite because it really works those legs, its a quick and tough workout, your heart really starts pumping, and you almost always have good access to stairs unless you live in a ranch-style home. Don't forget some muscle toning steps along the way too (crunches, leg lifts, free weights, squats, push ups are all excellent)

5) Have confidence! You know you can stick to it if you just try! If you mess up once during the day don't think "Oh, I already messed today up .. I can eat whatever I want and restart tomorrow." No! There are appx. 21 major meals a week, one mistake won't hurt but you can just keep giving in!

Good luck and let me know if you need more help!
