Birthmark?

Question Posted Tuesday July 22 2008, 1:48 am

I was born with a small mark that looks sort of like a blood blister/hickey combination. It's rather noticeable, because it's on my arm; and many people comment on it... I want it gone.

My mom insists that I should leave it there because it's a part of me, but it attracts unwanted attention and can't be covered by any sort of makeup- trust me, I've tried. And it's ugly.

Does anyone know what it might be called, or how it could be removed?

you could ask your mom to call your doctor and make an appointment and tell them that you would like it removed. My cousin had that same problem, except it was on her neck. So anyway what they did was they gave me Novocaine to numb it and then they just scrapped it off and then they just put a steril pad over it and you can't get it wet for a few days or so. my cousin said it works and she was happy that its gone

Red birthmarks are colored, vascular (blood vessel) skin markings that develop before or shortly after birth.

They don't really have a major name since it's just a birthmark.

& I'm pretty sure the only way to get it removed would be to have cosmetic surgery.

So try going to your dermatologist, (if you don't have one, I suggest you get one) and just have him/her tell you the pricing to get it removed and such.

hope i helped. let me know. =]
