so im 14/f and i am trying out for volleyball this year.
i was on vacation and missed some of the clinics and captains practices.
I'm going to a clinic tomorrow but i have NO IDEA how to play volleyball. Like, absolutely no clue.
And i'm kind of out of shape and stuff.
I'm really nervous about going to my first clinic because i've never played a sport before and i'm just like shaking here.
So what can i do to calm my nerves, be productive at the clinic, and make the team?
thanks!

i LOVE volleyball
i bet your coaches are really sweet
anyway
about practice, ask yur parents to buy yu a cheap volleyball or any ball at target or CVS. and ask your parent to toss it to yu so yu can bump, set, or spike it back. i know this sounds lame, but trust me it will help. the clinic will help yu get better too!you neeeeed to practtice alot and when you messup, don't let it get you down. if the school has a camp, GO TO THAT! trust me, it will pay off. i've been playing for three years now and have been on four teams. practice alot and be determined(=

First, calm down. You will be fine at the clinic. The point of clinics is to TEACH you the basics of the game, and I can guarantee you won't be the only one there whose never played before.
Next, start training. Running is a good way to help, because you do a lot of moving in volleyball.
PRACTICE. PRACTICE. PRACTICE!
Whatever you learn at the clinic, work on at home. Work on your bumps, serves, etc outside of the clinic. When at the clinic, give your all. Coaches like to see dedication, and there's not better way to show you're dedicated than practicing and giving it your all.
Which brings me to my next point, don't be afraid to ask for help from coaches/other people at the clinic. The coaches are there to help you, and getting to know to other girls who you could potentially be on a team with is always a good idea.
And most importantly: Have Fun! Practice and train, but don't forget to enjoy the time you spend playing! Volleyball is a really fun sport, and you should not only work on your skills at the clinic, but enjoy your time there.

Just calm down because if you're nervous and shaky, you're going to mess up ten times more than you planned on.
Just do some stretches, look up volleyball videos on youtube, and just watch. The instructor tomorrow will help you. Don't worry. =]
